In case anyone reading this doesn't know that the CLASSIC movie "The Goonies" was filmed in Astoria, it was! Rest assured, I WILL be attending this, and I WILL be getting Cory Feldman's autograph....(or at least try my hardest. I'll go all paparazzi if need be!))

Never Say Die: The Goonies 25th Anniversary Celebration Friday to Monday, June 4 – 7, 2010
Cast members that will be attending include: Corey Feldman, who played Mouth
Curt Hanson, who portrayed Mr. Perkins – the richest man in Astoria.
We are in conversations with several other cast members and producers about their attendance at the event and will know soon if their schedule will allow for them to join us. We’ll announce them here as soon as we know!
Goonies Concert A Goonies themed concert at Warren Field, as seen in the opening of the film, with performances by: Truth Movement – Corey Feldman’s Pink Floyd inspired class rock band will start their 2010 summer tour here in Astoria.
The Ataris – Alternative band whose album in 2003 titled So Long, Astoria references their love of the film and a trip they took to Astoria to see the Goonies sites. Currently touring worldwide in support of their 6th album, The Graveyard of the Atlantic.
The Whiskey Rebellion – An acoustic, bluegrass band with YouTube hit “The Ballad of Chester Copperpot”
Troy’s Bucket – A pop-punk band from Southern California named after a memorable scene in the Goonies

How to Get Involved If you would to be a partner with the event, many opportunities are available for local businesses to host activities like 80s Night Out or the Treasure Hunt. We are also seeking sponsors to help us present this event. Volunteers will be needed to help with numerous tasks, too.
